What hanging system should I choose?
Systematic Art is pleased to offer a wide variety of Rails that include both Ceiling and Wall-mounted options. In addition to both Ceiling and Wall-mounted rails we offer systems with the ability to work with both Hanging Cables and Rods.
Our Ceiling mounted system which include both the Sky and Slim-Line are both perfect for hanging in areas that contain walls of mirror, glass, wood, marble and stone. Since both of these rails are affixed to the Ceiling you will not have to make any holes to your wall.
Our Wall-mounted systems that include the Moderna, Gallery, and Click-Track are affixed to the wall with the ability to withstand more weight then the ceiling mounted system. In addition to providing you with that gallery look and feel, the wall-mounted system provides you with many creative possibilities that include incorporating the rail to your current moldings or flush mounting to your wall when doing new construction.back to top

What is the difference between a Hanging Rod and Cable Hanger?
The Hanging Rod widely used by many museums and galleries is the most used method of art hanging moreover the hanging Rod is able to withstand more weight then the cable hanger. The Cable hanger takes a more modern approach to picture hanging providing enough strength to hang 40 Lbs on one single stainless steel cable.back to top
What is the difference between a Stainless Steel Hanging cable and a Nylon hanging cable?
The Nylon cable along with its ability to withstand 15 lbs of weight provides an almost invisible picture hanging solution while the stainless cable slightly noticeable is able to withstand weights of up to 40 lbs.back to top
Do I install Rail the length of the wall or only above where I plan on hanging my picture?
That is a matter of personal taste. However we have found that our rail systems look best when installed the entire length of the wall.back to top
How much Rail will I need for my application?
Simply measure the length of the location accurately to determine your requirements. If you plan on adjoining rails to corners you will most likely need additional footage due to loss by cutting rails for a perfect 45 degree connection.back to top
How Many Cables or Rods will I need for my application?
It is all according to how many objects you plan on hanging from the rail in addition to the size of the object to be hung from the rail. The average is either (3) Rods or Cables on one single rail.back to top
Is Installation difficult?
No, Installation is quite easy and straight forward only requiring you to drill holes in to either the ceiling or wall depending on your application insert anchors to the drilled holes and screw the rail to the anchors in the wall. Additionally the rail can be screwed directly into wood or metal studs therefore avoiding the use of anchors.back to top
How long will it take me to install a rail?
Depending on how handy one is, it shouldn’t take a person with some home improvement skills more then 20 minutes to install a rail provided the proper installation tools are available.back to top
What tools do I need?
The necessary tools truly depend on your structure, but in most cases all that is required is a drill, drill bit, and screw driver. You may require a level if you do not plan on mounting the rail to either the ceiling or wall line.back to top
Can I paint my Rails and Rods to match my décor?
Yes, you can certainly paint your rail to match your décor however we do not suggest painting the Rods only because movement of the Rods hooks will most likely cause paint to chip.
